Walk for Chrissie!

Story

Our amazing Mum was a writer, a photographer, and most importantly, an explorer. She was always happiest halfway up a cliff or paddling in a stream; she knew the names of every flower, I swear, and she loved the natural world. Our Mum was awesome. She raised us 5 single-handedly, got a law degree, made many wonderful friendships, got a great husband and was always smiling and laughing, throughout all the hard times. She saw the goodness in everyone and the possibility in any situation, and worked tirelessly to help people who were struggling.

In Mum's memory, my brothers and I are walking up Snowdon and hoping to raise awareness of ovarian cancer. This disease is little talked about, perhaps because we're collectively uncomfortable with ovaries, perhaps because cancer is still so difficult to discuss. We want to raise awareness AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE so, here are the symptoms, and please tell them to your mums, friends, aunts, everyone -

- feeling full more easily than normal

- needing to pee more often than usual

- persistent bloating

- persistent stomach pain

- feeling tired all the time

- bowel pain or constipation

- back pain

All we can do is try to inform each other and take care of our bodies.

Thank you so much for reading and/ or donating.

Love,

Amy Jamieson (Poppy)

We weren't able to do the walk in March due to one of my brothers having to work out of the country, so we are all set to do it on the 14th of July, in much nicer weather too! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, we will update with photos afterwards, and really appreciate your support. X
